Soooo...One of our garage doors broke last night- the thingamajig broke away from the wall and the whatsyamacallit came off the track, and there were a few ominous looking wires hanging from the sides of the door. So naturally, we tried to force it open manually. That's how we discovered that the thingamajig was broken, because it gouged out a small crevice in one of the panels of the door. We managed to get it closed again and thought perhaps we should call someone who could actually fix the damn thing. Having just remodeled a large portion of the house and then bought a new water heater, we were sweating the bill on this one. Today, we called the people who had installed our opener, they came out within the hour and had it fixed in no time. We got it repaired and also got a new remote for the opener (we had lost one of them) and it only came to a little over $100. I was shocked, both by the cost and rapidity of service. So, of course we ran to Borders and spent a small fortune.

Ralphie was listening to some talk show on the radio tonight and a caller announced that Oprah Winfrey was killed in a head on collision tonight. I found him at home frantically looking it up on the internet. I panicked for a second until we couldn't find anything online. I'm guessing it was some nutjob on the radio. I had Diana flashbacks for a second. I was also thinking, 'I guess I really do like Oprah after all...'

Speaking of tea, I had a really cool lunch at Jiko a week+ ago - food and tea pairings. Really interesting, and I need to order some of the teas I really liked. |

Does Jiko always do that, or was that a special something?
Hey wait--Jiko is open for lunch? Food & tea pairings might just get me into Jiko. I'd like to know more, please. |
