GD, my hubby says stuff-into-receiver vs stuff-into-tv is mostly preference, as well as how close your stuff is to receiver or tv. Our stuff is in a cabinet on the floor, ten feet from the tv, so it works better for us to plug everything into the receiver and then run it to the tv. If you had an entertainment center with everything together, it may make more sense to run it all to the tv. Depends on how the cabling can run, that kind of thing.

Oh dear. We just tried a DVD (upscaled, we don't own any BluRay). We started with LotR:FotR.

If there is a divorce, philosophical differences over the motion-smoothing technology, or whatever LG calls it (TruMotion?), will be the most likely culprit.

That was a pretty epic debate.

As it stands, I'm ceding that the TruMotion thing doesn't work too well when the camera moves, and that it's bad enough to make the good part not so good. I really wish that aspect were better, since the feeling of realism is very appealing to me. I'd rather be "in the movie" than watching a movie.
