And, of course, everyone knows that Walt Disney was such a great admirer of Kirk Douglas that he named Disneyland after Ned Land, Mr. Douglas' character in 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

Can't tell from the responses, but I'm serious about Taco Bell. Glenn Bell founded the company in San Bernardino in the mid-1950s.

I also love hearing about pockets of success. Da Vinci and Michaelangelo. Gore being a roomie with Tommy Lee Jones.

Makes me wonder what was in the air that McDonald's and Taco Bell both came out of San Bernardino within a few years of each other.

The Inland Empire also birthed Del Taco and Naugles, both chains started by Dick Naugle. The first Del Taco was in Corona.
