...I like the idea of Birthday month allocated Bacon. As long as Decembers tasty. ....and Amazon wont ship bacon outside the Continental USA, Hawaii or Alaska.

Once it is all ground up (with other parts of the pig and turkey and bacon) does it really matter? Since they added artificial smoke flavor doesn't it essentially just mean they made a high salt hot dog?

I saw a TV ad for bacon, where the bacon said "I'm just like meat candy". I think advertisers read LoT for ideas!
 And yes, bacon talks....

Snow, I do the same thing (only I get the cured smoked bacon ends from the meat department that are real cheep)! I keep them in the freezer, then slice some off, and put it back it the freezer. With the high fat content they don't freeze real hard, so it's easy to slice.
I use this where bacon lardons are required.
