				            | My heat's been on for a while now, at least long enough to get up in the morning. The rest of the day it's set pretty low, but I need my house to be warm when I get up. Electric blankets are wonderful, too. We are not well insulated but that's ok. One of these days we'll do some fixing up and it will be better.

				            | We always have an electric blanket on the bed during the cold months. Both controls go on Susan's side of the bed (queen bed with dual controls). That way, when her side of the blanket inevitably fails, she can simply just flop the blanket over so that the working side is now on her side. The power is NEVER turned on on my side.

				            | It's a very nice balmy day in LB today. I opened all the windows just after lunch to let the house air-out.

				            | I'm loving the cooler temps. After the longest time, I'm back to working in pajamas, instead of just my underwear. |

				            | Our dog is terrified of the new heater. She runs for cover every time it turns on.

				            | Maybe a giant untended gas fire was not the best choice on that new heater

				            | Yeah, but 55-gallon drums are a holiday tradition around here Actually the new heater is ostensibly safer as it has no pilot light... electric starter instead, I guess.

				            | Just saw something kind of cool... topographical map recreated in cardboard (eg: made 3-d) I kind of dig it. You could easily (well as easily as cutting that many individual pieces of cardboard can be) do it yourself, equipped with an interesting topographical map, an X-acto knife and a whole bunch of cardboard.
