Congrats on making dinner. So how did you prepare them?

My son and I have been having fun cooking/making everything Dad won't eat this week because he's not home! We're skipping the balanced meals idea for the week but we're having lots of fun! We're still eating lots of fruit but haven't touched a vegetable! ;-)

So, I'm doing a lot of gift processing today. It seems like 06/06/06 was a good day for people to write checks for charities. Guilt, perhaps? Get that donation in before the end of the world?

(Or most likely it's because it's almost the end of our fiscal year...)

I sauteed up some carmelized shallots. Then I started sauteeing the chops in a bit of olive oil. After I flipped them, I topped them with the shallots, a can of pinapple chunks, and a bit of teriyaki sauce (one part soy, one part honey, a bit of mustard). Cooked it until the chops were done, flipping a couple more times in the process. Then topped it off with more teriyaki.

So, I was awakened (awoken?) by some very loud thunder this morning, and the EBS warning has been going off. Seems we're in the midst of a very severe thunderstorm, and they're waring people to stay indoors and away from their windows, etc. (Large hail and high winds). We have torrential rains and big lightening strikes, but no hail or winds yet.

Adrenaline is better than caffeine! (Of course, the first thing I did was make coffee in case the power went out).

Probably should get offline as well....
