I'd also like to say that The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is long. I'm wondering why we chose the largest Murakami book there is when I've got so much to do. | |

				            | I looked at that one, but it said the patterns were for size 8-9 women's, which is a bit large for me. And I didn't want to do that math to change a pattern before I really understand what I'm doing. I do hate that the book I got will not remail open. What needles do you use? I could use some help. |

| Beelzeboobs, Esq. | Actually, the different patterns fit different sizes. The adult version of "Child's First Sock", for example, fits women's 6 1/2 - 7 1/2, as does "Evening Stockings for a Young Lady." Most of them are 8-9, though. (Men's are all over the place.) I'm currently using Takumi Bamboo needles (Clover is the manufacturer). What pattern did you start with? Socks are really hard and confusing the first time through when you don't know what you're doing or what different stages look like. The good news is that once you've done one it starts to make way more sense. Shall we move this conversation to the crafting thread? I'm happy to help - with wordy descriptions and photos as necessary.
