I wish my new neighbors would consider something. They let their dog yap for hours on end. How do they deal with him? Shut him outside so the rest of us can enjoy. They make no attempt whatsoever to quiet their dog.

Sounds like my parent's neighbors. They put the dog outside, and they can't hear it bark, so in their minds it isn't barking.

It drives me nuts when my dog(s) bark. I will do everything in my power to get them to stop. I have even considered diffenbacia (dumb cane) oil. It paralizes their vocal chords, but I'm not sure how to go about it without stuffing the plant down their throat .

So, Munchkin's home from the vet, and she's doing okay, though a bid groggy and nervous.

Yes, that's right, she. And not "she" as in "haha, he lost his balls." "She" as in Munchkin is female. As is the case with many rabbits, their outside bits are a tad ambiguous. Doctors can make educated guesses, but aren't always right, especially when they're young. When we had him checked at 6 weeks, the doctor said she was guessing that she was a he. And even the surgeon today said he was pretty sure too, until he got inside and found no testes

I'll probably still say "he", 'cause it doesn't matter and it's what I've grown accustomed to.

Try a citronella collar for Socks. It is sound activated and will spray a citronella scent when he barks, which dogs don't like. I watched several dogs that have used them in training with great results and no harm to the dogs.

I tried to ignore this, but I can't. The thought of surgically maiming an animal for no other reason than a human's selfish desire is just disgusting and quite honestly infuriates me. There are far too many options rather then needlessly ripping out a needed part of the body.

Sorry, but this is an unforgiveable act given the reasons stated.

I have never heard of that before. It is definatly worth a shot.

I did talk to a firend who trains dogs. I am totally bummed. She just started her last class of the year. There is no way I am going to be outside for 2 hours when it is 110. In the meantime we (meaning Nickolas & I) will keep working with him to keep him socialized so that he doesn't get like Pooh.

Could not someone says this about fixing an animal as well?

I'm not pro-voice box removal. I just brought up the option. But is it any different, really? Fixing an animal has to do with easier pet maintenance and not having to take care of offspring or keeping it away from members of the opposite sex, in effect surgically maiming an animal to make life easier for the human.

Which would you rather lose - your balls or you voice? Neither is a good choice.

If I say something that Nickolas doesn't want to hear, or if I sing, he says mute and acts like he is clicking a remote. If a commercial comes on that he doesn't like he says mute. It is sort of cute.

After today's wake up bark I am ready to shell out the $100 for the citronella collar.
