Uhm, I always thought KB was just having fun with his Emma countdown. I'm with Tref with regards to watching her mature via the countdown, and look forward to KB's next sig line project. (Providing it's relatively work-safe).

I simply find apparent youth to be a turn off. She's certainly an attractive young woman. But for the most part, for me, that abstract attractiveness doesn't start to turn to sexual attractiveness until someone starts to look like they're pushing 30 or so (though there are exceptions and no firm line on that). And that's been pretty much true since I got out of high school an was in environments where I could expand my circle of regular contact.

I've seen people much younger than me who are clearly emotionally mature and I've seen people older than me that are so emotionally immature that I wouldn't get intimately involved with them in a million years.

So in the Elliot Spitzer case how do you rank the offenses:

- Infidelity/cheating on his wife
- Having sex with a prostitute/money for sex
- Having sex with someone approximately his daughter's age

R is 10 years and 7 months my junior- I doubt anyone noticed.

At 18 and 28 I would not have even looked his way- at 23 and 33 I was freaked out for a while- but it has not caused any issues.

I suspect as we age it will matter less and less.

.....and since some of the things we do are kinky and twisted...well....

Oh and don't forget:

- Stealing public money to finance his tryst.
- Vocal advocate against just this type of corruption.

The Spitzer case was a classic tragedy. South Park did a great job of addressing this in a recent episode. Some that have weaknesses for specific vice are the ones trying to eradicate them, because they know the evils they can present. As I get older, I see less "offensiveness" and more human tragedy in these cases. Poor guy just had to ruin his life, ruin his family's life....it's sad.

Even so, as all this came to light, there was no way he could stay in his position. Perhaps one day, sexual addiction will be treated similarly to alcohol addiction, where he could actually come out in the beginning and say "I have deviant tendencies, which is why I got into this business in the first place. I deal with my issues every day. Now let's bust some whores!"

Anyway, I find it hard to think about the sexual crimes in a ranked sort of way. Perhaps, as Moonliner points out, it's the public funding that's the real rub........ha, rub, get it?

Yeah, but C, you probably weren't likely to have birthed him at 10. (Nor was Tom likely to have spawned me at 7.) Obviously, I don't think that people have to be the exact same age when in love. And, indeed, age of the wide-gap couple matters. If a 60 year old and an 80 year old wanted to get it on, I probably wouldn't blink. I have to admit, though, that if they were hooking up 40 years prior, and if I were honest about exactly how judgemental I am, it might make me uncomfortable - unless the couple were such a perfect match that I didn't even think about it. (This is the case for one of my very dearest friends.)

I think the deal is that... as my nieces and nephews grow older, particularly, I can't stomach the idea of being attracted to anyone close to their age. (Not to mention the fact that I'm female and biologically we're said to be attracted to stability/age, not verility/youth.) I was rarely interested in movie-star crushes my age, and find this to be true even now.

Though I will admit that early on, I predicted that Daniel Radcliffe was going to be a looker, and those French posters from the second film seemed to agree with me. Somewhere along the line, I guess he did get pretty? But my interest waned with my active participation in Potter fandom.

It's probably old news for most of you, but I just heard that Daniel Radcliffe and his "show" will be seen on Broadway this year.
