Yes, I will be in town, but this is also right about the time my truckload of stuff will be arriving. It's also 5 days before my roomie leaves for Mexico for four months, she's going to be hell on wheels (she already is and had a meltdown when I told her when my stuff would be arriving)

An invitation to my place, will have to wait until I am a bit more settled and unpacked.

We'll keep it open, but I can make no promises. A drive by is distinctly possible.

You're a brat, Traci.

No, I just know quite a few people who have had some pretty severe side effects with TMJ, one of whom was my MIL. I have a milder form of it, which is why I have to get braces- as soon as I get around to it......

From the TMJ Association web site:

Quote:
The TMJ:
"TMJ" stands for TemporoMandibular Joint, or the jaw joint. You have two TMJs, one in front of each ear, connecting the lower jaw bone (the mandible) to the skull. The joints allow movement up and down, side to side, and forward and back—all the mobility necessary for biting, chewing and swallowing food, for speaking and for making facial expressions.

TMJ Diseases/Disorders:
Temporomandibular joint diseases and disorders, commonly called TMJ, are a collection of poorly understood conditions characterized by pain in the jaw and surrounding tissues and limitations in jaw movements. Injury and conditions that routinely affect other joints in the body, such as Arthritis, also affect the temporomandibular joint.
I myself get a clicking in my TMJ joint (not uncommon, but not correct).

What is often confusing is that TMJ is an acronym for the joint, but the initials are commonly used to describe problems with the joint. Sorta like if you have a broken arm and you describe your problem, "Yeah, I have arm."

So the part where my job "pops" if I open it past a certain point, or that if I yawn too wide it gets stuck open and is difficult and extremely painful to close, that would not be how it's supposed to work?

If your employment is causing you pain, that is a bad thing.

And if the condition you describe also applies to your jaw, that is bad too.

I have a similar problem. According to my cousin the dentist some people's jaws are just "looser" and pop out of place. And once they start popping out the bone can get a bit worn down so it happens eaiser. I quit chewing gum and it seemed to help. Yawning not much you can do about.
