We're up there tonight and tomorrow night with family. I've been looking for cheap rooms since October with no luck.

Oh, I did hear them mention 'Fender'. The people I saw must have been the 'suits' part of the deal.....

katiesue~ So rates have been high for these dates since October? I hadn't checked until this week. We were up there in December and paid $113. for Homewood Suites and again in January {the first week}. Thought it was convenient and lesser expensive but it jumped to $179.! Maybe even $199.

Well, I thought it was because of the motocross events happening every weekend {or so} at Angel {Anaheim?} Stadium. This convention is way bigger and would explain it even more.

So, did you end up not finding anything? We almost went to Buena Park, the Knott's hotel or the Radisson that used to be the Embassy Suites. {but then we went to Target and bought a couple of bikes and decided that was it as far as budget goes for one day....we should remember what we are driving when we go shopping that far from home.... }

We're at Hojo's. Not a great rate but eh. I booked it in October hoping something better would open up but it just hasn't. Last year we went this same weekend and got an AP rate at the Disneyland Hotel of $99 but this year it's $245 so no go.

I'd love to go to one also. Some of the guys from Chicago are appearing there.

MW- thanks for the advice!

Not sure what deal they were discussing. The only business deal I could find about Fender was that they are partnering with Panasonic to put out a Fender branded car stereo.

Nah... the motocross (Supercross) event wouldn't pull that many rooms - it is a "local" event. MOST of the attendence is within driving distance.

So, I've felt very square-peg-in-round-hole lately. And I'm not talking about
Cinderella suite toilets. Am I really that far off from society? Do I need to become someone else to make it? Or is this just an extended uncomfortable phase? Do I have any questions that aren't rhetorical?

This feeling usually means I'm doing something wrong, but I really don't know what that is this time.

Bah Humbug.

Hmm. Perhaps they were discussing another time with Fender. Thanks for the info on that, I was sooo curious.

Yep, we drive up for the motocross ourselves. Thought we'd stay the night but not for that much. The weekend of the 6th we had a great rate and a bunch of guys were there whom I took for motocross event attenders. {?}

Oh man, $99 for the DH? Yeah, i can't stand to pay too much when I've paid as little as $139. for the GCH!!! The Hubster thought we could get a rate similar and so I dragged him to the reservation desk at the GCH. Ah, no. We chilled for a bit in the lobby {I fell asleep while he did some work calls} and then went back into the park for a coffee. I really love the convenience of having a room to go and take a nap. Maybe I should have been a cat? I love to nap in warm sunny places....

Either way, you are there and so you have fun! Right?

Prudence, I feel like that now and again. All I can say is stick to your guns and it will work out. {unless you are showing up for work wearing rasta dreds and saying 'Peace out, dude' at every turn...maybe then you might want to rethink wardrobe...}

Well, Bornieo, I hope you feel better soon.

Accept your square-peg-ness and use it to your advantage. I think the MOST successful people are those who are authentic to their real selves and confident in ther abilities. That's a wining combination.
