My family saw this today. I was afraid with how much I was looking forward to it I would be disappointed, but it surpassed my expectations. I want to see it again! And I need the lyrics to the house cleaning song....that was hysterical.

How much longer is it required to use spoiler tags?

Just saw it. A bit cliche (intentionally so for the most part I'm sure) and rather predictable, but very enjoyable. Didn't catch many of the Disney film references I'm sure as I'm not much of a Disney film fan, but what I did get I enjoyed. Thought it was a fun movie.

The shopping scene and the lead up to it were tad too predictable and cliche though. Also, didn't like the transition from the young beautiful animated version of the evil queen to Sarandon. Not sure why they didn't make the animated version a bit more like her actual age and appearance.

In the end, I thought it was painfully sweet, funny at times and tons of fun. Agree with iSm that the clean up the house bit was the best part. Not sure it all lived quite up to the hype, but then again I'm sure Disney film geeks will be able to appreciate it on a different level.

SNAP

I saw it and really enjoyed it. Brad and LSP's review is dead on and it was just what a Disney movie should be. Yes, a bit to mushy and predictable in ways, but the cameos and the joy of the film are worth overlooking that flaw.

9 bornieo's out of 10!

I finally got to see this last night and it was wonderful. Really sweet and funny.

But there was one part I didn't understand. The girlfriend has just met Giselle and she (the girlfriend) isn't happy. Then the screen goes black but we can still hear the characters talking. Then there's a good minute of the movie theater advertising slide they usually keep on the screen in between showings with some really loud music playing. Then just as suddenly Giselle is back on screen and she's made a dress out of the curtains. (What? The curtains?) That whole sequence didn't work for me. Maybe the film maker was trying to comment on how modern life constantly bombards us with advertising but I don't think it was effective in the context of the film.

I finally saw this tonight. I loved it. Much better than, and exactly what I expected at the same time.

I missed the cameo appearances, and had a hard time placing what reference was from what movie beyond Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Little Mermaid.

Sign for Bella Notte Cafe=Lady and the Tramp.

Arguable "Hairspray" cameo for Corny. Cameo I would have liked to have seen: the Ghostbusters showing up at the end.

I basically loved it. And it validated my reservations about "Ratatouille" in that there's nothing cuddly about vermin in the kitchen.

Poor Timothy Spall. I hadn't known he was in the movie, but as soon as I saw the animated character, I said to myself, "That's going to be Timothy Spall."

And, opinions please: my wife and I disagree on whether they had gotten married by the end. I say they hadn't. My wife thought it was just a decision not to show us two weddings in the closing montage.

I wasn't so bothered by the required shopping scene, as I was by the equally stereotypical finish where someone starts up a kicky business.

We just saw it on Christmas Eve. We took all the kids and everybody really enjoyed it. During the beginning animated portion I was a bit worried that it was going to be a dud, but I put my faith in the reviews I read and hoped that what I was seeing had a purpose and was going somewhere. Indeed, it did pay off.

Since we saw it later in the run we were in a smaller theater, but it was still packed. Mostly with kids. But all the kids were very entertained and there were no inappropriate outbursts. There were outbursts though, but the kind that only added to the hilarity on screen. For example, when Giselle tells Edward that she wants to go on a date, my youngest child blurts out (loud enough for the whole theater to hear) "What's a date?" just seconds before Edward asks the same question. At first I was worried my son's outburst would ruffle some feathers, but everyone around us seemed to think it was pretty funny.

I did not catch any of the cameos, but I did catch the "Bella Note Cafe" sign. Of course, that one was practically screaming at me. I'm sure we'll be seeing it again when it comes out on DVD so I'll get more chances to see the other easter eggs throughout.
