I saw Spetters at the Castro back in 1980. First mainstream movie I saw that had hand-to-whatsits contact.
The Fourth Man--same director, several of the same actors--had its moments, too.

Another vote for Short Bus, and Pillow Book. I also liked Spetters, but that has a different tone of young-adult sexual coming of age.
I know we had an erotic film thread somewhere, but that might have been in a previous message board - My favorite of the genre include: Bitter Moon - for creepy seduction and humiliation Henry & June - Sexual Adventures is pre-war Paris Dangerous Liaisons - I like just about any retelling of this one for the pure game of sex and seduction Last Tango in Paris (I've really come to love Bertalucci's treatment of sexual subjects - The Dreamers, Stealing Beauty, Sheltering Sky - I all love but certainly am biased Repulsion - For some early Polanski repressed sexuality (I also enjoyed Knife in the Water, but didn't like it as much in a second screening). Eyes Wide Shut - I know people have problems with this Belle du Jour - Housewife takes a day job as a call girl Chocolate - Because the next best thing to good sex is chocoalte The Unbearable Lightness of Being - for certain scenes

Have you ever seen Besieged? It's maybe my favorite of his films, but I think I'm in the minority.
