Dinner tonight was homemade chicken soup.
I bought one of those rotisserie chickens last night for dinner, so after dinner I threw our bones into a stock pot with some mirepoix. Popped the stock in the fridge for tonight's soup. Added 2 cans of chicken broth, chopped celery, onion, and sliced frozen carrots. I made one unfortunate mistake... overestimating the noodle capacity of the soup I'd been putting together. I threw in an entire bag of egg noodles! Which were not covered by the liquid in the pot So I had to add several cups of hot water (as I was out of canned chicken broth to add). Also meant that I needed more chicken, so I ended up with one of the Costco cans of chicken (Disneyphile knows what I'm talking about) plus the meat off the wings from last night's bird (we'd only eaten about half the bird). It's quite tasty, but I wish I hadn't had to water it down quite that much as the tastiness is getting a little diluted. Still, tasty and satisfying.

I've just had my first Tim-Tam. Australia is well justified in favoring this amazing biscuit.

Flippy, I'm having a corn dog for dinner, seriously. And a salad, but I picked up a package of chicken corn dogs, let's talk comfort food.

I was all set to get some meatless c-dogs tonight, but I couldn't find them. I see from their website that Morningstar Farms doesn't make them anymore. chicken corn dogs might be a good semi-healthy (snicker) alternative. As it is, I'm having an Amy's burrito and a salad.

The tim tams you can buy at stores here are NOT 'real' Tim Tams...they're ok and I wouldn't turn one down but when you have had the originals you notice the subtle differences. I have ONE package left in my freezer...it's gona be a long 2 years .... my cheese is sad!
