I think the game is going to start getting pretty interesting from this point on. I'm liking this season much more than the last on, I must say. There have been a few things that I didn't like but I'm glad to see them mixing things up a little, being a little more creative with the challenges, and keeping everyone on their toes a little more.
Early on, the fact that there were a lot of WWII artifacts around caught my interest. I thought they might incorporate that theme somehow into the challenges. I don't know exactly how they would do it, mind you, it just seemed like something you could be creative with. Anyway, glad to see Janu gone as well. For some reason though, I thought it was going to be Greg. |

While there was never any discussion about Steph's ouster, I thought lawst night was one of the best plays I've seen in a while on Survivor. Gregg was shocked - as was Jen (whom I still can't stand) - and I give him props for his reaction - none of the whiner "they lied to me" crap we get so often. He got played when he was trying to make a play, and he realized it, and took it like a man.
Katie is irritating me right now - she doesn't seem to get it. Other people are allowed to make plays, just like she was trying to. She seems genuinely upset at Ian, even though she was ready to betray him. At this point I think Jen is next to go unless she wins immunity or pulls of some major strategizing, both of which I doubt. After that....I am unsure of who Ian is more loyal to - Tom or Katie. I hope it's Tom. I don't think Caryn will bite the hand that feeds her. My predictions - Jen off next, followed by Katie, then in the final three Caryn goes as Tom and Iam stick with each other and a truly deserving player will win - either one of them. |

Awesome, awesome move. Absolute perfect show of strength by them. Not just one of the best strategic moves in a while, one of the best ever. Ever since the stone first use of the stones method of tie-breaking, no one, and I mean no one, has risked a tie, and they knew it.
Honestly, Katie's an idiot for even considering aligning with Jenn and Gregg. I mean, duh, you think either of them will bring you to the final 2? Geez, did you SEE them at that reward challenge?

Yep, great show last night. Not much to add than what has been posted above. Greg chose very poorly on the rewards challenge by splitting up the groups like that. Had he brought Tom or Ian, things might have turned out quite differently.
I do think Tom still has to be very careful. I think they all realize that none of them have much of a chance against him in the final two. Looks like there is going to be a bunch of drama next week. |

Tom can reasonably expect a good chance at winning immunity in the final 3.
Those elimination challenges are always political suicide for someone. Always. Katie was particularly moronic. She didn't have to take out Ian, she could have hit Jenn. And then to have Gregg completely break his word because Jenn cracked the whip, only to cheerfully enter into a 3-person alliance with those two. Could she be any stupider?

Here's an interesting question/observation (I can't take credit for this one - Heather brought it up last night while we were watching the show) -
Does Ian have a crush on Katie? Do you think it will affect his play in the next two shows? When they were discussing the upcoming rewards challenge, he said "If I win, I'm gonna take my girl. And if she wins, she's gonna take me." My girl? Odd. When she zinged him in the challenge, he seemed genuinely upset. Then, when the three reward challenge losers went back to camp, he was the one that suggested that Katie had "gone to the other side," as if there was a real betrayal going down. It implied that he knew that Gregg was up to something. The week before, however, he had taken Gregg's manipulation to break up his original pact with Steph without even a peep or a(n obvious) second thought. And what was going on in the teaser for next week? It looked like Ian was capitulating to some weird emotional display from Katie. This show is getting goooood.

So we have five left:
Tom, Ian, Caryn, Katie, and Jen. I have to think that Tom and Ian are starting to look at each other as a problem. That would lead to: Ian and Katie Tom and Caryn. Katie and Caryn would just be lucky to make it to the final two and Ian and Tom would be happy to go up agnist those two. Which brings us to Jen. Poor little Jen. Poor left out to dry, grasping at straws Jen. How about this: Jen goes to Tom and says, I'll vote with you and Caryn to get rid of Ian and Katie. In return you vote me over Caryn for the final two. The same concept would work even better if she could do it with Caryn. She agrees to vote of Ian/Katie and then she and Caryn vote off Tom. Of course that's a problem because Caryn/Jen have about a zero chance of keeping Tom from immunity.

Caryn seems to be Tom's little puppy dog, and now that Ian and Tom have pulled a major power play to save her butt, I don't think she'll have the cajones (or smarts) to turn on them.

I'm not sure exactly how Ian pulled that off. That was not the brightest move to take Tom on that rewards challenge. I still can't believe he didn't get voted off.
Prediction: Jen is toast first, then Katie, and Tom will probably receive more votes than Ian, although not a given. He did seem a little scary prior to winning immunity. Strange seeing him start to freak out about getting voted off. |
