I don't know what to think any more. We just got some not-awesome news from the GI doc. I need to get off this good news/bad news roller coaster.

Maybe the only way to come to terms with being dealt a sh*tty hand is to take it one day at a time. I don't have any control over what's happening right now, and torturing myself with any sort of fiction that I do is doing no one any good. All I can do is be the best I can be every day: for me, for him, for my friends, and for my family.

Erica, my mantras lately have been "it's beyond my control", "One day at a time", "Laugh in the face of adversity" and "FUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!". I'm not sure any of them are keeping me sane, but I'm not sure I started out sane in the first place.

Oh, and I keep accusing people of stealing my crystal ball.

Add me to the list of people with sick parents. My Dad just got out of hospital after several days because his platelet count was at 25,000. The recommended minimum/maximum for platelets is 150,000 - 450,000. The did a CAT Scan of his spleen and bone marrow biopsy.
