So, every so often I get in a pouty "everyone hates me; guess I'll go eat worms" mood. And then, like clockwork, I am reminded that it is so not all about me.

My younger brother (27) had a problem a year or so ago with a grapefruit-sized tumor that developed right by his hip joint. The good news is that it was benign. But, it's a kind that likes to grow back. Which it is doing. So, if he doesn't have surgery, eventually it will grow huge again and then it hurts him to sit, walk, any of that wacky hip joint stuff. And if he DOES have surgery, each time takes out more of the muscle and surgery #2 will likely leave him with a permanent limp. Not a worst case scenario, but then when it grows back again, #3 will do more damage. And so forth and so on. And because it's on the hip joint, recovery time is like having a hip replaced.

This really sucks. I know we Zobrists are a tumor happy clan, but dammit, 27 is too young.

Time to stop feeling sorry for myself.

I wonder if the healthcare system is gonna work for me or not? So far, it's been a blow.

So it's the weekend and I'm still on my first cup of coffee and realize nothing has been planned. I'm sure there will be much laziness, but it may be the perfect time to catch up on things around the house - God forbid I should be so ambitious. I'm also thinking it's been a long time since I've been to Tower or Fingerprntz, not that I can really afford another media buying binge - but oh how much I want to and I do still have some credit...

So I should be cleaning the kitchen. Instead I'm sitting here posting, watching something I don't want to admit I'm watching (okay, it's Ghostbusters II) and will probably shortly transition to work on the evil puzzle of the damned. I'm sure I won't start cleaning the kitchedn until like 5 o'clock.

I bought a new cage for the girls last week. The only one I could find with the design I liked was a guinea pig/rabbit cage. It is just like the old one, but bigger. It took Daisy all of 3 minutes to escape from it. I just put her in it, since we have had her for a week and she has already grown quite a bit. Now she can get her head & shoulders out, but her tummy and hips get stuck. I know if she wiggles enough she will make it all the way out. I felt bad as I put her back in the smaller cage alone. I am hoping she will associate trying to escape with being in solitary. I figure another week and her tummy will be too big to make it out.

The Easter Bunny finally got to do her thing and now it is time for night night.

Trying not to listen to the Lemonade Pie in the frig that's calling my name...why did I even make the stupid thing?

Sitting at home still in my bathrobe - ah for lazy Sundays. Thinking about Coachella, listening to the bands I don't know about, pulling the CDs for the bands we already love, getting excited about 2 days in the desert still over a month away. Smiling to myself becasue I had the foresite to take Monday off so the laziness can continue. Maybe we'll see a DVD.
