View Full Version : It Doesn't Take Much Sometimes...

Sometimes it's the little things...
1. I'm happy that Google made a link to my Gmail somehow after I downloaded something to my computer. Now when I see someone's hyperlinked email address, I can click that and it goes to my Gmail account and not Outlook.
2. This retro ashtray (which happens to use the same colors as LoT) that I bought from Disneyland sits on my desk and makes me smile.
3. This makes me smile:
:argghh:
:decap:
4. In a couple of weeks the leaves are going to change on the East Coast to reds and oranges... Can't wait. :)
What's on your happy little things list?

Think lovely thoughts...
My happy thought this week has been that the kids at the school seem to genuinely like me. They run up to me during recess just to say "I remember you, you're the library teacher!" I get kids knocking on the door asking if I need help. It really warms my heart.

1. Pumpkin soy latte for breakfast.
2. Crisp cold clear morning.
3. No cat barf anywhere.
4. Lost on TV tonight.
5. Leftover Pizza Schmizza in the fridge.
6. Brand new InStyle on the coffee table.
7. I'm wearing a green turtleneck. I love ribbed turtleneck sweaters!
8. It's BOOT time! I bought some new knee high boots the other day.
9. New school clothes. I love kids in new school clothes.
10. Home brew in the extra fridge. It's a blonde ale that drinks like a red.
10.5 Did I mention that Lost is on tonight?

*My little angel faced snow pea (one of my many nicknames for my Labrador Retriever) She's my best friend, my snuggle bunny, my Little Bo Peep and my little pumpkin pie sprinkled with everything yummy on top. Well. I am very happy to say that we are all caught up on 'Lost'. We rented the discs, one by one, from Blockbuster and sat our butts down to watch all of the shows, only since Sunday {I believe} to be caught up for last nights two shows. Today I feel like a burden has been lifted off of my shoulders.
And, again, my kids are the bright lights of my day. My little guy smiling and cheerful heading off to school. My daughter happy in her life and got a new Robert Smith tattoo, it looks pretty damn cool. And, my older son is getting into his two classes that we made him take at the community college. He didn't want to but he is happy now that he did. He is going to be 18 soon and he is like a flower about to bloom. I can't wait to see what he does.
And, last but not least, I am trying to get the hubster to agree on a ditch day to Disneyland in October.

Two shows? There were two shows last night?!?!?! I think we only recorded one!!!!
We've got about 10 more episodes of season 1 to get through, then we can start watching season 2. We recorded both episodes last week...but were there two last night also?
EDIT: Oh, okay, the first one was a repeat from last week. I can stop freaking out now.

Oooh, sorry Chief.
We had caught up on season one and then kicked off season two last night with the two first episodes. We were lucky that they showed the first one again as I missed it on Sunday {?}.
The Hubster is off of work so we have been sitting here hour after hour, inbetween our responsibilities, watching. Watching.
Now we are watching the bonus disc that comes after the last shows.
Did you see the trivia page about Lost? I can try and find it.
Happiness is being able to record all of the shows you want to and watch them at your leisure. :snap:

I am pissed. I missed last night's new Lost because I forgot to set up a season pass on my DVR. I watched old episodes of Super sweet 16 and then went looking for lost and invasion and nooooooo... it wasn't set to record. I was so angry. Yesterday sucked, fire in the hills, I spent almost 5 hours driving around the valley trying to get things done before our out of town guests arrived and then NO Lost.
Oh wait this thread is supposed to be about good things isn't it???? Whoops.

* Dusting off my coding skills to create a damned good little batch program to automate some testing. This thing is bullet proof, runs completely unattended, does error checking, completely user configurable. Not bad for 300 lines of code. I find I like programming much better when I don't have to argue with a compiler.
* Eating lunch outdoors on a sunny day with a good book
* Making a perfect defensive shot in pool, leaving the cue ball in the one and only spot on the table that would give me a chance to win, thus securing the match for my team.
