Yes, looking back - the man had a good run..... for the first ten years. Mistake after mistake after mistake for the decade after that. Just because he did not bring Disney back down to the state of financial disaster in which he first found it does not make his second decade a success. Not in my book.

My book, of course, doesn't give a fig about the money created by Disney, but rather about the art created.

Walt Disney was not a brilliant man because he made money.

But success is what people like to focus in on and take account of.

Morgan, Rockefeller, Dupont et al will never be as beloved as Walt Disney. They made tons of money, but Walt made people happy. Eisner had a good early run, but he had a lot of help and nowhere to go but up. He flaked out and lost his way the last decade, and no amount of money seemed to mean as much to him as leaving a legacy like the founder of the company. So, he leaves as a failure in my eyes. Too bad- it could have and should have been different.

I shall post this offending image every day until Michael Eisner is impeached!

What's that? He's gone? Fine.

I shall post this amusing image in every thread about Michael Eisner's exit.

Buh-bye, Michael!

As much as I dislike the guy, I'm a little sad that he doesn't get a gold watch ceremony or anything. I'm not exactly sure why. It just seems like he was there for so long, and being CEO of Disney is a big deal. A really big deal, and technically he is leaving at his own accord. It just seems like the right thing to do would be to have some kind of party.

It could very well be that he didn't want a party, Traci. He's odd that way- likes the suck ups and sycophants, but at the same time he has a sense of decorum for certain situations. Or, it could be that no one remained who liked him enough to do it.
