Ghoulish Delight

This story comes to you secondhand, originally from Nirvanaman and Babette (posted by me with at least 50% permission). The two of them embarked yesterday on the VMK tour offered at Disneyland. I don't know the details of that tour, but I guess you are lead around, given some facts, go on some attractions, and have the opportunity to earn in-game points.
One of those point-earning opportunities came in the form of a question, the answer to which, the tour guide assured them, would surprise them as much as much as it had suprised her. And truly it did, for the answer to the question, "Which is the oldest mountain at the park?" was....."Splash Mountain, built in 1973."
  Double you tee eff?!!
But wait, it gets crazier as she then went on to explain that the characters in Splash Mountain were actually the alternate animatronics from America Sings (would that be the America Sings that wasn't built until 1974, a year after Splash Mountain  ), and that whenever a character in American Sings broke down, they would have to rush to extract its replacement from its new home across the park and get it into the show.

That's not just wrong, it's so elaborately, wildly wrong I don't even know what to make of it. Either there's some consipracy to purposely disseminate wildly incorrect information to the public, or someone has pulled one major fast one on this poor tour guide and convinced her of this outrageous lie. Or she's just really, really dumb. Had I been there, I'm not sure I could have continued on with the tour after that. But fortunately, Babette and Nirvanaman had the fortitude to stick around and hear the same tour guide talk about doing cats doggy-style.
