Well, my trip is June 11-16. Probably will rain every day.

Posted in the Wendybeth Meet thread. So, when's the meet?

Sunday June 11th?

We'll find you Leo.

I found what you posted right after you posted it, but I've been too lazy to start a thread about it. I haven't even checked my calendar to see if you'll have the pleasure of meeting me. ;)

Oh, and we'll find you.

:D Ha ha. Just kidding. I can't go anyway.

But seriously, you all should have a meet. It could be so much fun.

Alas, I made a boo-boo and a few months ago posted a link to some pictures I was in. Those pictures have since been removed from the site. Thankfully they were at a site where you had to pay for them, so hopefully no one possesses one.

I would think it would be relatively easy to find out what Scaeagles looks like. He's posted where he coaches (coached?) basketball a long time ago. I'm sure they have a website with pics. Although, he may have just given vague references to where he works and his user name that I picked up on because I live in the area. Don't worry Scaeagles, I won't give it away. :p

No, Zapppop won't look for you there. :p

Ok, so I fully expect neg mojo for this, but I think we should all respect the fact that Leo doesn't want to meet us. He is ashamed of his Disney friends and his secret life. Ya know, if his fellow consertatives found out about us he'd be kicked out of that group and his life would be over. So as amazingly cool as it would be to meet Leo and hang out with him and his not so scary right-wing self, we should just accept that fact and move on. And not stalk him. However, should he pull an Uncle Dick, all bets are off.

There are worse things that can happen to a person at the DLR than to be shanghaid by this group, Leo. They are very cool and knowledgable, and if you play your cards right you might get the R-rated tour, which was probably the most fun I've had at the Resort.

And you must experience at least one boat sinking.

If you call suddenly leaving without so much as a fare-thee-well, then yeah.

But it was somehow different than the other, mutual ditching that went on more than a few times in those early days. Uncle Dick's were more ... well, weird is the only word that fits. One moment he was there, and the next he wasn't. Only ... you quickly realized that he wasn't there the moment before - - you only thought he was ... and the truth was that he'd been gone godknows how long.

Now ... no more tidbits for Leo. If he want's 'em, he'll have to come and get 'em.

I think it would be so much more fun for LOT'ers to not gang up on him, but rather to ease up, one by one, with a "Hi, Leo" and then just walk away.

However, after about 30 times of that, Ms. Leo may develop a nervous facial tic and an intense distrust of her husband.

No offense, but I dont think NA could blend in to save her life... she just makes people want to look at her. Same with ISM and Zapp, BTD, and maybe Kevy.

scaeagles
06-02-2006, 05:13 PM
It isn't that I don't want to meet everyone. I'd love to. The family....well....not their thing. Of course my wife knows that I post here. I've told her that the vast majority here are on the left side of the political spectrum (to varying degrees) but that you're all cool and nice people, and that I like posting here because you are all intelligent and can discuss disagreements of all sorts without calling names (for the most part - everyone gets miffed sometimes). But.....meeting people from the internet? WAY out of the comfort zone of the wife and kids.

So....it's that simple. I can promise you that should I ever be there alone I would want to meet and hang out with each and every one of you. Like I said, you're all intelligent, and you're all cool.

All that aside, this thread is fun.

You know, conservative to conservative....I get the family doesn't like the internet hook up, and with kids, I know, it is a bad example to set.

How about everyone just goes those days and does their normal meet or no meet type activities. Leo, until then, checks out the various pictures posted here and at other Mouseadventure type boards. As he sees all the people he recognizes he gives some sort of secret signal, like base coaches in baseball, showing us that he sees us.

Well then again maybe he'd be wrong and would just look like a weird guy at DL.

Ok so anyway can you just ditch the family for a secret meet? LOL!

I propose that we put our collective, twisted little minds together and come up with a solution that will satisfy everyone but MBC (sorry, dear) and yet afford Scaeagles the last vestiges of dignity he thinks he still posseses. I think a picture- photographic evidence, if you will, of Leo partaking in some sort of Swanky moment is in order. We can either assign a mission, or leave him to his own devices, keeping in mind his conservative nature and the subsequent snooze potential that is inherant to those of that mindset, Mickeylumbo being a possible exception to that general rule. If he agrees to this mission, we agree to lurk only, without breaking his cover. Since I'm in Spokane, I can readily agree to these terms.:D

Hey, I sell myself for small appliances and am the butt (get it? hahahaha!) of sphincter jokes. You think I believe I still have dignity?

I am perhaps the least boring conservative you will may might probably won't ever meet.

But that aside....put your collective liberal minds together (all together they perhaps might equal mine all by itself) and if some solution presents itself....I'll think about it.

How's this for potential? Your kids go swimming, don't they? Gads, the entire point of staying on property is so's you can ditch the theme parks during the height/heat of the day and go back to your glitzy hotel for a luxurious dip in the pool.

If we're talking the Grand Cal, the pool is mere footsteps away from the Hearthstone Lounge. Howzabout you duck away from the family for half an hour and meet us for a drink?

No need to ask anyone to leave their comfort zone. Nor to remain in an assigned comfort zone.

Consider it an invite.

And, if, well, you simply can't accept - for reasons of propriety or just plain cowardice .... well, we'll just wave from down below the Fantasmic balcony and that will be the end of it.

This would be a good plan, except that we're from Phoenix. My children swim every day (literally), as it is the only outdoor afternoon activity that is really possible for obvious reasons. They have no desire to swim when we're on vacation.

We find it funny when people are talking about how hot it is at DL when it's 90 in the afternoon. That's the temp here in Phoenix at midnight.

And also, that makes the assumption that we're staying at the GC. We're not.

No cowardice in not accepting that plan. I, sir, am no coward! It just wouldn't work.

I never got a button either:(

But seriously, my husband was a little apprehensive of me meeting a group of friends from the internet too. Then I explained how long we had all known each other and followed along to many different boards. He agreed as long as he had the power to say when it was time to leave. It was a nice albeit brief meeting with some of you but it was great to see you in person. I also explained to my son how long I had gotten to know all of you before meeting with you. Because of the group he now goes through rides with his arms in the air!! You influenced him into being a brave little guy!

It was Wendybeth and my first time meeting the group and we actually found each other first. It was great fun and you are all wonderful people! My husband still talks about Chris and Lisa, and GD and CP!

Last time we actually just accidentally ran into Lisa and Chris and I believe Gn2dlnd, Jim. My son thought it was cool and talked nonstop about his VMK experiences of the day with them. Sorry about that guys!

They're a great group and I hope you get a chance to meet them IRL sometime. I hope to be able to meet the rest of you sometime as well!

Hmph! Hmph, I say!

3 kids, thank you. 12 (F), 6 (M), and 4 (F).

Neo-con? I am a classic conservative, thank you. Nothing "neo" about me!

But the greatest offense is your final offering.

We've considered it, but only our 12 year old would really appreciate it. To the 6 and 4.....they wouldn't really appreciate it, and it's pretty expensive to fly them to Hawaii for them to not appreciate it.

I did tell my father in law that next summer I get to go with my wife and he has to stay with my kids. He didn't go for that.

Have I been doing this internet thing for 5 years now???? Can't be that long.

Thinking about it, it's been 3. My son was 3 was when I got online to look at info on staying at the GC and found Mouseplanet. After lurking for a few months, I started posting.

You know, someone on our plane yesterday had a good point re: the new Airbus. Wouldn't it suck to be stuck in the middle of that thing, waiting for 800 people to pull their bags out of the overheads and get off the plane? It takes long enough on a 737!

$20 Billion in development, over 4.2 Million man hours in development and testing. Somehow I'd think they might have come across this issue already.

Perhaps it has something to do with all the new gates they are building to accommodate the plane. It could even be as radical as having more than one exit.

While we were boarding planes and suchlike I posited that planes should be designed like Starspeeders (or Small World boats etc) with doors to every row so that people exit and enter in approximately 10 seconds.

I think that's a great idea. They should also have escape pods (like 'Fifth Element') for each row of seats so people can be launched to safety (with a parachute) if a crash is imminent.

Humm. I think I like that idea. How many in your party? 5? Row 45. Please move all the way down the aisle. They could watch a safety video above the doors that show them the proper way to store their bags and buckle their seat-belts.
