I'm really excited about this (http://www.nj.com/printer/printer.ssf?/base/news-11/117177694297300.xml&coll=1). I know it's still early but it just sounds so logical.

Wow- wouldn't it be great? My nephew is autistic, and years ago we noticed he was absolutely addicted to milk and things that were high in fat. I wonder if it is because his body craves it but can't metabolize it properly?

Metabolism and what the body requires - while there is so much science behind it, isn't it amazing what some people are allergic to (fatty acids, milk, proteins - specifically), others may require more of it?

Protein too! Bodies are wonderful and weird things.

When I get plenty of milk, red meat, and other things that many doctors say are bad for me, I don't have any seizures and my overall mental state is much better. My father, my sister and I all have the same genetic code that causes us to have seizures, but the diet changes along with medication have been the best help yet.

This is great news, not just for Autism, but perhaps the overall world of medicine will be a little less blind to different approaches to treatment.
