Found an awesome site that details the hikes in Yosemite:
http://www.yosemitehikes.com/
The site it quite funny too - the authors are very witty and a bit snarky. So, it's an entertaining read, as well as being very informative.

Waaaaaa, most of the really cool hikes will be under 17 feet of snow. The trails will be closed. Bah.
But there are a couple of nice ones in the Valley. And two beautiful waterfalls that are not hikes at all, but short strolls. And plenty of gorgeousness to behold from other short walks.
Of course, with the impending Apocalypse and all, we might have a drastic snowmelt over the next 2 weeks. Who knows?

Current conditions have most trails open, except for those originating from Tioga Pass, Half Dome, 4-mile, and the upper portion of Mist.

It is my understanding that the pair have reserveed that time to enjoy their holiday plans with MomLash before her return to the land of oz...
Dearest All,
In an attempt to keep thread lengths down to about 2500 posts, and end speculation, The LashPair are currently travelling with the StoatMum, to whom we wish to dedicate our time at present. Once mum returns to Ashtraya, Bear and I have side trips with folks that approached us on day one of announcing our return to the USA.
Please remember, there are way more of you than there are of us (two), and even if you contacted us really early in the planning (yes, we planned), we haven't figured out how to be in multiple places at once yet within a set timeframe.
So locale, timing, $$$ and snow had a lot to do with it. I even used a blindfold and a dartboard once during the planning. This was a bad idea as I broke our fish tank and shorted our unit’s fuse-board. I bashed my head on the entertainment unit whilst mopping up the water, and after Bear put ice on the forehead I thought snow would be a good idea for part of our holiday. Hence Washington and Yosemite.
I have always preferred quality over quantity. Because you people are so sharing, and we haven't the capacity to take it all in at more than 100mb/second, we’ve taken a conservative approach to our planning.
If we have offended anyone, I’d just like to recant “you can please some of the people some of the time et al”.
So, from April 13th, it’s Bear Season…and be gentle with us as we bruise easily.
Love and hugs,
The Stoat (and for Bear)
XXX.

Um. that's exactly what I meant.
The Vernal Falls/ Nevada Falls Loop is closed. Best.Trail.Ever. But we can go as far as the base of Vernal or maybe up the "Mist" portion a ways. It is stunning and we will enjoy at least a portion of this fabulous trail.
The other stunning trail is off the Glacier Point Road, which I'm assuming is closed (usually is), and that's likely why the 4-mile trail is listed as closed. But the beauty, stunner trail is the Taft Point / Sentinel Dome Loop. OMG, fantasticness. OMG, buried under snow this time of year, heheh.
BUT ... we should have the patented Rivendell Effect in the Valley, with the dozens of tiny waterfalls that only appear for a fraction of the year. A rare treat, ours for the taking.
Sigh, it's just that I don't get to Yosemite much anymore. And the last time I was there was also this time of year, just before the high trails opened that are so unbeliveably rewarding.
Ah well.
Not like we won't be having a freaking fantabulous time!!!

Except, apparently, for all the mysterious "Pink" time. :p

Don't be perplexed, be pinkplexed.
Besides, if you want to grab some exclusive pink time with us, you still have the chance to book the remaining yellow block on April 28th, AM.
So there. :p

K - shouldn't be a problem with you riding back down with us! Do you have a certain time that you need to be back? We plan on getting back rather late that night. :)
Thank you! I'm totally fine with a late night arrival :) As iSm stated, I don't need to be back in Vegas until Saturday night so that works perfect for me!
Easter Sunday - get up, enjoy watching Miss B hunt eggs and discover the treasures left by the EB, breakfast on bacon and sourdough pancakes with Maple syrup. Head to San Jose (a 90 minute drive in good traffic) to take the pair to Winchester Mystery House...time line TBD on Easter morning. After they have experienced the fun of Miss Sarahs abode and grounds we will return to Suisun City for an Easter dinner of deep fried turkey and assorted side dishes.
So *basically* what you are trying to say is since you are already in San Jose which is so incredibly close to San Francisco you've decided to stop by for the 4pm BYOBW Race before dinner... AWESOME!
Don't hold a space for us :D but thanks for thinking of us! You guys are welcome to come join us at the Jelly Belly on Monday morning tho!

We like to take our time coming back, having a tendency to stop at odd places on a whim, etc. We've found some really cool hidden jewels that way before. We've been researching some history and such within the central area, so who knows where we might end up. It's fun! :)

So, I have some questions:
Do the cabins include dishes and cookware? What about dish soap, etc.?
Are linens included, or do we need to bring our own bedsheets, towels, et al?
What time is check-in?
What time is check-out?
Oh, and I added a note about the Sandwich Bar on the meal spreadsheet (http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=p9eeZlmGn4SMdBZCwrviDZQ&hl=en).

I finally got trekking poles. I always struggle with small rocks and such, especially when coming back down, so that won't be a problem anymore! Now, I can be safe, and without constant worry that I'll stumble and break my ankle or something. (Seriously a silent fear of mine - having to be carried off a trail.)
I scored a gorgeous pair of Swissgear poles with compasses in the handles for $18 at WalMart, of all places. :D
