WTF was Cartwright thinking?!

Keeping with the character of Bart, I gotta think it was a setup. Now Fox can go after scientology both legally and on the show...

Cartwright donated $10 million to the Church of Scientology. Don't think it's a setup.

Wow, that was astonishingly stupid of her.

As was doing a Scientology ad as Bart.

Florida couple clones beloved dog for $155,000

I think this qualifies for this thread.

even as much as I love dogs and animals in general, this disgusts me to the core. sure, hes cute and cuddly and all. so are the thousands being put to sleep because they cant find homes for them.

The whole story

The poor woman: she went in expecting to only have seven, but ended up with eight.

OK, so it was revealed today that the mother of the octuplets already had 6 children - two of those are twins. She's 33 year old.

Who the HELL decided she needed fertility treatment? (I could really go on a rant right now, but I'll refrain.)

LA Times Story.

Unbelievable. I'd rant, but I am at a loss for words.

And, some organizations or private donors will "honor" her by supplying them with a big house and all the needs for the children, and some college will probably even grant them all scholarships.

I know this is kinda fascist, but I don't think artificial fertility methods/drugs should be available until all unwanted children have been adopted. If nature wants you to have kids, then you would, but if you can't for some reason, then why not just adopt?

And she's living at home with her Mom - correct?

Is there any mention of a Dad?

Or is she now the single mom of 14?

I am holding back on this detail as the LA Times story says "Neighbors said she and her six children ... live there with her mother." That could be that Mom lives with her and 'father of the children.'

Again from the story "... noting that her daughter's father is going back to Iraq, where neighbors said he worked as a contractor, to help support the expanded family."

But yeah, this story makes my blood boil.

ETA: in reading the story more closely, the person who said "... noting that her daughter's father is going back to Iraq..." is the new Mom's Mother: the new babies' Grandmother.

So who knows what the fvck is going on.

If she can care for the kids to a sufficient minimum level then I don't care one way or the other.

Is it less than ideal? Surely. But kids are raised in all kinds of less than ideal ways all the time (and many that would be well defended).

I'm curious why standard implantation methods for a woman her age weren't used, but it is just curiosity.
