Damn, it's going to merit its own wikipedia entry ere long...

Ju Koon recommendation: - a bus with Lisa at the Wheel, preferably let loose in Palos Verdes. :D

This year's random adventure: The White Point Hot Springs Hotel Ruins. Good find. Fascinating and sad story.

Friendly reminder guys - set your FB albums to be seen by people without FB accts.

Love the photos, looks like fun!

There's also a link at the bottom of each album to share with those who don't have FB while keeping your privacy settings intact.

Do I need to do something?

innerSpaceman 09-19-2010 09:13 PM

You're gonna need a bigger bus.

If you haven't already, do the following.

Not for my sake, but for the few that FB has not assimilated yet *cough*kevy*cough*

Not Afraid 09-20-2010 12:12 PM

I think Kevy just needs to join FB and be done with it.

This is the way we post photos now. Get with the program.

This year, in Orlando, JuKoon was observed with the traditional casting of the bread upon the waters at approximately 6:40 pm local time. From the Western facing, white sandy beaches of Crescent Lake regrets were banished, faults were acknowledged, and resolutions were resolved. Residents of the Yacht Club Resort were heard to say, "Hey, why's that guy throwin' bread all over our beach?" To which the raccoons replied, "Nom nom nom." This year, in a surprise casting change, the raccoons were played by familiar local faces, the Really Aggressive Ducks. When asked if JuKoon has become too commercial in recent years, one local participant said, "No, the baguette was free." Thanks France! One more step towards the normalization of Franco-American relations.

That's all from Florida's JuKoon celebration, let's see how things are proceeding in California...

Wait! I believe our Nevada team is about to check in...

Thanks Gn2, great to hear JuKoon is alive an well on the East Coast! Here in the Nevada desert, a small (2 person) contingent of LoT-ers congregated at sunset on the bridge overpassing beautiful man-made Lake Jacqueline in the Desert Shores community to toss their cares away and realign their lives for the coming year. The beautiful ceremony, complete with Gay Club Remix finale, lasted well into the darkness of night and, much like in Florida, featured a small cast of ducks masquerading as the holiday's namesake raccoons! Participants were excited to be able to bring the celebration to Nevada for the first time in this awesome holiday's history.

Back to you, California.

Back in California, we seriously need to take up a collection to rent a short bus for Not Afraid to careen around Palos Verdes in ... at least by the next Ju Koon that falls on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. That's nearly half the week right there ... but when you consider that we can either choose the starting night or the ending afternoon, our chances of a weekend Ju Koon are doubled!

And feral cats vied with aggressive seagulls to be this year's California mascot. Perhaps we'll get a different featured animal totem each year ...

I know. I was offering an alternate method of sharing for those (like me) who prefer to keep their FB private but still want to share photos with those (like Kevy) who refuse to cooperate.

We saw Ducks. Of course we took that to be a really good omen for the upcoming year.
