Unless he posted the ad from an easily traceable computer (that pins the post to the individual), I gotta say that it was a smart tactic. I can't of course condone what he did, but he does get points for creativity.

$1.75 eBay bid gets abandoned Michigan home

Quote:

SAGINAW, Mich. - With a winning bid of just $1.75, a Chicago woman has won an auction for an abandoned home in Saginaw. Joanne Smith, 30, recently was the top bidder for the home during an auction on eBay, The Saginaw News reported. Her bid was one of eight for the home.
The Whole Story

The part that I don't understand is how the WINNING bid was only $1.75 if there were EIGHT people bidding on this.

oy....looking at the house, I suppose she could recoup her cost in firewood by knocking the place to the ground....with her fist

and knowing ebay, it was for the house only...and she now has 72 hours to get it off the land underneath it.

I wonder if she is going to finance with an option ARM. If she plays her cards right within a couple years she could end up owing $5.

I demand any Australians present explain this behavior! I will have to demand that American zoos bar admission to Australian children.

I don't see the problem. He was perfectly within his rights. No crime was committed, no laws broken.

How old is Bindi? Perhaps she can go beat this kid to death.

Alex 10-03-2008 07:59 AM

Unfortunately, Bindi turned ten (according to Wikipedia) this past June 24.

Her younger brother, however, is five.

Being Steve Irwin's kid, I suspect he can take the little ****. :D

According to Mr Neindorf, the “nasty” boy’s brother was part of a group who attacked Terry the crocodile about five years ago.
I hope the zoo does sue the family for damages. Maybe the parents will take a little freakin' responsibility for their kids.

cirquelover 10-03-2008 10:02 AM

I was sickened by that story and the fact that they won't do anything to the child because he was too young!
It said on the news he killed a crocodile, how the hell did he manage to do that?! This kid needs serious help or something!

Managers will be thinking twice about putting a play on against this guy with a runner on base...

For those that don't follow baseball, a "hit and run" also happens to be a term used to describe strategy play in baseball.
