I did not (honestly). I lead such a sheltered, pure existence that I normally do not encounter such filth.

What is the genesis of that? Was it featured on a show or movie? Or is it just "one of those things?"

I would like to research the origins, but I am not about do so from work.

If you haven't encountered it yet, add to your searches the phrase "two in the pink, one in the stink" or "two for you, one for poo."

Obviously not the origin (I don't think) but the gesture gained some additional notoriety a few years ago when it was discovered that a high school yearbook committee had peppered that years edition with photos of people making the gesture. There was somehow outrage when it was explained to the adults in the area.

I had heard the first phrase you mention, but I otherwise feel so unenlightened!
