Whatever happened to Chris Elliot?

He's busy attending weekly tapings of Saturday Night Live in support of his daughter who recently joined the cast (how did he get that old?).

I think he's mainly been playing bit parts in movies/tv and he's written a few books.

You know how when you were a kid the other kids told you to stay away from the drain in the bottom of the pool because it would suck you down and you would drown. Turns out - they were right.

I suppose one can debate the costs vs. how many lives are likely to be saved, but I don't see that as nanny government. It would be nanny government if the government were intervening to alleviate a risk of harm that only happened to 1) adults 2) when they were drunk or stoned.
