| I've had Thunderbird.  Never had the Mad Dog.  Never heard of Cisco.  However, for cheap drinks (drunks?), nothing in my experience compared to Bertola's, which is/was on the Oakland Berkeley border.  In the early '80s, it was .50/.75/1.00 for a single/double/triple out of the well.  Cheap even for the standards of the day.  Lively place, too, as I dimly recall.
 For in room dining, my classy punch of choice was a sangria made with cheap wine that I would liberally season with Canadian Club.
