I think it's the former. I have to see where I read that.
Which is fine. He can
think a marriage should be between one man and one woman all he wants. He doesn't have to marry multiple people or marry a man.
But he's not going to try to tell the rest of the country they have to think the same way he does.
Or at least that is how I read it.
