What we will probably see is that we won't ween ourselves off of gasoline until we are forced to. Which means that we will never see lower overall gas prices.

Well, cars shouldn't ever have cost so much. Nor should have houses.

Maybe I'm dumb to feel that way but I do. And, athletes shouldn't make so much money, either.
  1. Why shouldn't athletes (and entertainers) make so much money? What solid reason is there for not making so much? It has already been proven that the market will bear it.
  2. I did the full research on another board that we were all on that crashed and lost all my research. But basically, the oil companies do not make any more than comparable companies on a percentage basis (if I recall correctly, it was around 9-10% gross profit). People just freak out when they see the dollar amount. But when they have sales dollars in the levels they are, even a small percentage of profit is still a huge figure.

Are you saying that gas here (the US is higher than other countries or lower? The correct answer is that generally, gas (and diesel) in the US is much less than most other countries (not counting oil producing nations such as Kuwait, Venezuela, Iraq, et. al.)

One of many sources.
