There are levels to cosplay, and I think dressing like a hero to show your support for those heroes falls well within it. The ones that get press are the full-on LARPers, but many people wearing tributes are doing it with the same feeling in mind as sports fans.

Have you looked at these guys lately? They are monsters. Highly specialized, disproportionate bodies magnified by surgery upgrades. Any one of them could take on an entire 1930's football team. They throw objects at 100 miles per hour, or are able to hit objects thrown at 100 miles per hour, with surprising regularity. Seems to me that's just as crazy as anything done in basketball, football, hockey, soccer...
