I think this is really amazing news. Ralphie is going to be really excited about this one when he reads his email on his research cruise. (He's a marine biologist who studies the immune systems of squid.)

HI!
|
This is very cool! Creatures of the deep have always fascinated me. I'm surprised neither of the scientists were named Nemo though.

Hehe, that's funny. I bit and clicked the link. Subtitle to the story is "Star reportedly wed ‘The Squid and the Whale’ director Noah Baumbach". So there ya' go. Squid.

HI!

OK. There are two things about these reports that concern me.
Edit: I suppose if I read the entire BBC article, I'd get the story, huh? The squid finally escaped, but lost a tentacle. |

Yeah, the report is a bit sketchy. I read a different account that simply said the squid was going after some bait on the line, not that it was tangled in it. And I'm pretty sure the tentacle on the table is a file-photo. (the caption mentions it's from the Royal Society via Reuters).

HI!
|
Now I want to see a Colossal Squid!
The World Book Encyclopedias I had growing up had a great overlay map of the creatures of the sea. The deep sea overlay was always my favorite. Fascinating stuff! |
