Fuzzy T-Shirts

Has anyone else noticed the growing use of digital effects to fuzz-out details on TV shows? Not just peoples faces but things like a Coke logo if the show is sponsored by Pepsi. I've seen it in a number of videos the kids watch.

It makes me wonder.... Would there be a market for t-shirts with fuzzy logos printed on them? Done right it could be fun.

Google....

Of course.... Pre-Censored T's

I've the fun perspective of having a TV editor bringing home the soy-based bacon product, so I know a little bit about the subject.

They don't just blur logos from the sponsor's competition, they blur any logo that hasn't granted licensing (or if they don't want to deal with the hassle, ALL company logos.) It's all a big cross-consumer market and the second you use someone else's property, you owe them (and/or they owe you, depending on how big you and/or they are.) Just like you won't see brand names on food, people hold their hands over their soda cans, etc.

I'm always amused by the slight alteration of otherwise easily recognizable name brands. Of course, now that I bring it up, I am drawing a total blank. But trust me it is funny

In addition some networks, like HGTV and The Food Network, obscure or shoot around logos because they don't want to be seen as endorsing particular products in their cooking/home decorating shows. I worked on an HGTV show on crafters in which the crews had to stop the crafters from saying some common product names (like styrofoam) because they were not generic.

Excellent! Now all I have to do is copy write my "blurry T" designs. Then I can charge a licensing fee each time one is used on TV or in a Movie!

Years ago, there was a fried chicken joint in Harlem that had originally been a "Kansas Fried Chicken" outlet. Apparently they stopped paying for rights to use the name, so it became "Kandar's Fried Chicken" (very crudely repainted sign). Thanks for making me remember that.

I've never heard of "Kansas Fried Chicken"... Was it founded by Col Saunders?
