EMERGENCY PHOTOSHOP HELP

I have an image I need to use for our MA shirts but I need to remove the background. Said background is one solid color and that color appears nowhere else in the artwork. It should be an easy thing to do, but I can't seem to figure it out. HELP!

If I made the blue background transparent, live would be perfect. But, I don't know how.

open your image
<select all>
<edit>
<copy>

<new> (It should default to an image size that matches what you copied)
Select transparent background
<paste>
Now erase the stuff you don't want. If it's a solid color you can make it easier by selecting it with the magic wand before using the eraser.

Be wary of the Magic Wand. Sometimes, there are threads of that color running throughout random mixed up places. I tend to go about it the old fashioned way, which tends to not take too long if it's gone about in a logical way. Erase big chunks, then get down to the details.

But that's just me.

There's probably something easier out there.
