And if it was a Seattle news station, you'd hear that he was a Boeing employee, or whatever. And whenever it's a local school employee you hear that, too. Heck, we heard over and over again about Ridgeway working for the truck painting place in Kent.

Does Disney have a 'morals-type clause' with their employees? If he wasn't arrested for doing something on the clock, what right does Disney have to suspend him?

And I agree, who cares who he worked for (though I do understand 'local journalism' - Prudence, if it were a Boeing employee would it be a bigger part of the story than if it were a Microsoft employee???) For something like this, though, I think it WOULD be pertinent to the story if he was a school employee or day care worker.

I believe it is understood that if you, in your personal life, do something that is embarrassing to your employer AND can damage the image of the employer that those things are grounds for suspension and/or firing. I base this on a case recently where a husband and wife, both nurses at the same hospital here in Phoenix, ran a porn site with themselves as the stars in their off time. Though not illegal, they were dismissed. In their suit that followed, they lost because it was found that the actions outside of their employment were harmful to the image and operations of the hospital.

Ok the thread title made me think someone was cleaning the Haunted Mansion too well and Disney had them arrested for the destruction of expensive cobwebs................I shoulda known

Probably it would, because Boeing has a rather infamous code of morals. I think it's infamous outside my family. My dad made a big deal about signing it in front of legal and only under protest that if he didn't sign it they would escort him from the building. My dad has a history in QA and believes that many higher-level execs violate the code on a regular basis.

He did quite the neener-neener when Stonecipher was forced to resign.

(Plus, let's be honest: no one is surprised when Micro$ofties do anything.)
