I can't wait to miss it!

Oh wait, I promised my friends I'd go with them to see Pirates. Damn.

Parts I & II reminded me a bit of every uber budget comedy from Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines to Spielberg's 1941. In other words, enjoyable in a sort of Dialing-For-Dollars-Sunday-afternoon UHF-tv movie way. I fear the third will be no different.

NM and I accidentially ended up there. We had three hours to kill near Anaheim this afternoon. Arrived at the resort around 3:00, saw the signs that DL closed at 5pm and simultaneously said "Oh ****!" as we both realized the madness we were going to encounter. We got in no problem, but many passholders were turned away for not having a handstamp. Apparently this was the only day in history you need a renentry handstamp even though you carry a pass with your photo printed on it. Some very unhappy APers.

We got up Main Street without any problem. Due to my quick (30 second) sidetrack near the hub, we arrived at the Adventureland entrance a moment after it closed. We went into Fantasyland, checked out Nemo, rode Matterhorn, Pan, Buzz, and Space with no wait. They took us off the track at the end of Matterhorn with a promise of a second ride. Then the CM got into panic mode screaming at guests to unbuckle and get off. They took a few other bobsleds off as the ride was shut down. We did not get our second ride, and could see a big bobsled backup. It seems they put too many onto the tracks and they were afraid of them bumping at the end.

Nemo had a few people in the queue and hoods up on the subs. We speculated it was a test run with DL bigwigs and families, or maybe they were going to let celebs ride after the movie.

Well, we decided to leave and avoid the red carpet, but of course we got sucked in. We saw castmembers freaking out over dummy heads standing on fences, weird people who camped out for 10 hours frustrated that we walked up and had the same view as them, 6 foot 5 men holding their children on the shoulders, girls going ga-ga, piles of unattended purses, bags and backpacks, and a million cameras in the air hoping to get a good shot of the "who is that" walking by. The funny thing is we didn't have a camera or camera phone with us. No photos.

(BTW - When I say "saw" I mean glimpse, top of head, back of head, far away, through armpits, behind trees, under bright lights in eyes.) We saw that Hanging with Mr. Cooper guy Mark something, Chad Michael Murry, Apollo Ono, Joey Fatone, Cuba Gooding Jr, Kobe, Carlos from Desperate Housewives and some other cute guys and gals the rest of the crowd seemed to recognize. Our best and closest views were of Geoffrey Rush with the Monkey and Gore Verbinski. A few times we were walking out to leave and found another decent spot to watch, so we "saw" a few more celebs. Finally as we were near the front of Main Street, we saw Orlando and Johnny. At that point we were able to leave satisfied, and avoided the mass exidous.

We left as soon as we glimpsed Johnny (yes, he looked cute) and made it back to our other engagement only 2 hours late. They still served us dinner as we listened to Dave Foley emcee a hilarious auction. We had a good day. Now I am going to bed.

At least as far as half the fans there last night were concerned, not so much. In his entire walk down Main Street he was completely focused on one side and only ever even looked at the other side once (at exactly the moment one of his eight bodyguards was blocking him from my view).

I would have thought that seeing this movie was an inevitability for us even though we knew beforehand that it would suck, much like seeing the Haunted Mansion movie. But the last one was SO bad, so very heinous, that I can't possibly want to a) fork over 9 or 10 bucks, b) spend 3 hours watching it plus an hour or so before buying tickets, getting seats, and watching previews, and c) have the memory of its suckiness in the the back of my mind for the rest of my life like an eternal diet soda aftertaste.

It would take some stellar reviews to get me in the theater.

Oh, btw, if you give them money for crap, they will MAKE MORE CRAP. Pick your movies responsibly. Thank you.

I liked the second movie so I encourage you to spend money on it so they'll continue making movies I like.

I liked the second movie. I didn't care for the ending (and I don't care for any movie ending that just sets up the next movie, such as The Empire Strikes Back).

Yeah, I'm with Alex. I like a good, silly movie, that knows it's a silly movie, and puts its heart and soul behind being a silly and fun as possible.

(Unlike many silly movies which are self-aware to the point of paranoia and desperate attempts to offset the silliness by way of self-conscious apology or sarcasm, which almost never work and inevitably ruin the film)

I'm ok with that so long as when it sets up the next movie it is known that there will be a next movie and what the story is.

I hate it, though, when it is obvious they are just leaving open a door in case they want to use it later.
