If we do bring our own Bread, is there a preferred format? CD, LP, cassette, 8-track?

Dateline, Florida-
This year, in Orlando, JuKoon was observed with the traditional casting of the bread upon the waters at approximately 6:40 pm local time. From the Western facing, white sandy beaches of Crescent Lake regrets were banished, faults were acknowledged, and resolutions were resolved. Residents of the Yacht Club Resort were heard to say, "Hey, why's that guy throwin' bread all over our beach?" To which the raccoons replied, "Nom nom nom." This year, in a surprise casting change, the raccoons were played by familiar local faces, the Really Aggressive Ducks. When asked if JuKoon has become too commercial in recent years, one local participant said, "No, the baguette was free." Thanks France! One more step towards the normalization of Franco-American relations. That's all from Florida's JuKoon celebration, let's see how things are proceeding in California... Wait! I believe our Nevada team is about to check in...

HI!
|
JuKoon California.
Eight Lotters risked their life today in the name of JuKoon. The perilous trip down the steep hill (and I DO mean trip) was rewarded with pristine (except for the homeless campsite and various pieces of trash) beaches and tide pools. Bread was cast, the sea gods angered, waves retaliated and our past regrets were washed away. When no one would touch the sea penis, we made the long, dusty and exhausting treck up the steep hill. We lost 3 people to exhaustion or social obligations (The Rat, Pru and Savanah) but gained Morrigoon. After a stop for coffee (and a search for dry shoes) we all piled in Kevy's car - it was time for the traditional adventure portion of JuKoon - the Koon part of the celebration. I took over the driving (much to Kevy's distress - but it is TRADITION) and off we went. Our destination was the Korean Bell. We never made it. What we did discover was a lovely beach with the remains of an old 1920's resort whose history is both fascinating and sad. At the end of the parking lot sat an ice cream truck - nirvana on wheels - and we all imbibed in the food the JuKoon God had provided for us. We hiked up the beach until the discovery of "Perky Breast Point" where we stopped to contemplate the sunset. It was getting dark and only one raccoon had been spotted - and he was road kill. Back in the car we drove to the other end of the rocky beach. Then we saw them.........not raccoons but CATS. TONS of them living in the rock by the sea. I suppose that cats - not raccoons is the totem for this coming year. FRIGHTENING THOUGHT!!!! After the first named JuKoon we had all of the trouble at our house with raccoons. Our house is already filled with cats. What DOES the future hold??? Only time will tell. Some of my photos from the day are here. |

In the above "steep hill" = "Cliff face."

Yeah, it looked like a cliff face from the top. Getting lost for an hour and not making the tidepool suddenly seemed like a fortuitous event

A few miles up the road I had a solitary celebration (my friends, despite being LoTters didn't quite get JuKoon) by tossing a roll that a nice waitress at Beachfront 131 gave me into the water.
The sea gods always know. Actually it was a trip to watch the sea come back with rage when something heavy was cast away and the same type of wave come ashore as a mere pitter when something minor was cast away. |
