Hey fellow Swankers,

Some great films will be screening at the New Beverly Cinema in the coming months. I thought I would give you all a heads up. Now, the theatre itself is pretty trashed, but there's a charm about the place and sort of takes you back to the pre-megaplex's we know today. I ssaw a couple films there and enjoyed the experience. BTW, each film is a double feature for the cost of $7 (I think its the same).

WOW! What great double features! I would LOVE to see Spellbound and Notorious together (again, I think) on the big screne. It's been at least 25 years since I'va had that experience. Unfortunately, I will be fone both of those days. (Well, both are fortunate expeditions, but I can't be both places.)

Wow! A great lineup and it is making this movie maven's heart beat faster. Harold and Maude and The Loved One (originally released with the tagline, something to offend everyone) is a great double bill. DAMN, I won't be back in CA yet, these are worth flying down for.

Maltese Falcon would be cool beans.

Also I a few years back I saw Errol Flynn's version and Douglas Fairbanks versions of Robin Hood at the Oakland Paramount. This theatre had so much art deco. The Organist -Gaylord (forgot last name) was fantastic for the Fairbanks version. They even had the bar intermission and no popcorn or drinks inside the theatre.
