My company worked on the Slither website. First, I love James Gunn, who wrote and directed Slither. And I also love the people in the cast, primarily Fillion and Elizabeth Banks (I have a girl crush on Elizabeth Banks). It was a dream to attend the premiere and after party, because I got to see some favorite celebrity types, including James Gunn (who I was too embarrassed to talk to), Joss Whedon (who I was too embarrassed to talk to), Sig Haig (who I wasn't too embarrassed to talk to, which seemed to make him uncomfortable) and Nathan Fillion. Ordinarily, I'd be way too shy to talk to a stranger that friggin' charismatic and handsome. He is just as (if not more) good looking in person. Tall and manly, by George! But I had two scotches on an empty stomach, so was feeling very brave. I interrupted a conversation he was having with two other people. He was talking about how another actor in the movie stole the film and had all the funny lines, and the two people were disagreeing with him. "Oh, no, you were so great! So funny! The best thing in the movie." And he said, "No, no. I'm fine with it, but he really did steal the show." And I looked at him as I stuffed a chip in my mouth (at events where I don't know many people, I tend to stick by the chip bowl and/or bar) and said, "Oh, he *totally* did." And he grinned wide, grabbed both my arms with his manly Nathan Fillion hands, and said, "Finally, honesty! He was great, right?!" My brain pretty much filled up with, "Nathan Fillion is touching me. Grabbing me, even! Throw me down on the floor, Nathan Fillion! Show these people what you're really good for!" And then he was gone and I was left, once again, at the chip bowl. If I concentrate really hard, I can still smell him. |
