As such, no correction fluid is allowed (it's altering legal documents). And when a copy is made, it's stamped "COPY". When we are done with it shredding is the ONLY way to dispose of it.

I'd be willing to be that stems from ISO standards, not legal. But it's of an equally pedantic nature so the two often get confused by over-zealous executives.
