I purchased the Linksys because (amongst other reasons)m Tivo (at the time), only had one wireless access point on it's recommended list (and that is the one I purchased).

It's possible that the new Mac is running a faster protocol (either g or n) and the router is detecting that and switching to the higher speed mode, leaving it incommunicado as far as the slower devices are concerned. Go into your router and make sure it's set to compatibility mode (something like "b AND g" or "b, g, AND n").

It is set to all modes. FWIW, the router is a G, the Wireless cards in the old Mac and in Susan's PC (which I haven't checked yet) are all G. The new Mac is N. If I recall correctly, the WAP hooked up to the Tivo is B.

So far, everything is working okay since I did the earlier off then on of the New Mac's Airpoort card.
