Okay. I survived!! Thanks for the tips. We did not stay near the theater, major thanks there.

We arrived early and walked around and let me tell ya, there's no place like home.

We parked right next door {in their lot} and it was so cool, as we were pulling in so was the guitarist. Very cool, very smooth MF, I must say.

The Blue Palms Lounge was a mellow swanky place. Comfortable, small, friendly. The appetizers were pretty darn good and we were equally happy to be IN from the outside. LOL

I survived the pits. Barely. This young punk wanted my spot{center stage}. I fought him off for most of the night but I had been fighting a fever for days {actually, still have it and am barely getting my voice back} so after a while I relented and went up to the balcony where I could catch my breath. I am bruised all over!! The band itself was classy and pretty calm. They rocked but they were not obscene or anything like that. And, I may be old, but I don't get all of that pushing and shoving. Dancing, yes, I love the dancing, but pushing???

The warm up band was 'Throw Rag'. They were so punk. Crude at times but rather entertaining.

Saw a few people~ Jack Black, Nick Oliveri {ex-guitarist}, and Elijah Wood.
QOTSA rocks and I hope to catch them down here in San Diego at the HOB.
I think I will have to plan my strategy for the pits though.

Any tips from anyone who frequents the pits? I have to say, much to the Hubsters' dismay, I think they are the best place to enjoy a show.

Thanks all of you for your tips and for your well wishes. I did have a great time. Oh, instead of staying in Hollywood, we stayed at the BW Park Place Inn. That place is pretty nice considering you can just walk across the street and BAM there you are. The Hubster and I enjoyed the park Monday {great, overcast and cold...minimal crowd}and Tuesday{Sunny, crowded, only took in the Billy Hill show...}.

Hey, the new Buzz Lightyear ride was fun. We felt so guilty enjoying it so much while the boy was at home with his jacked up leg. All better now. But, what is sad, we e-mailed ourselves our picture and never received it. I made sure and we both checked what we entered and nada. Anyone else have this problem?
