Are there any good magazines for females that won't make me depressed because the way to happiness is to be a size 4 or, conversely, fill my world with 30-minute casseroles? I just want to know what to wear and put on my face or whatever so I look somewhat like the other people in this world.
So far, the closest I've seen is Atlantic Monthly.

There is a serious dearth of such a mag out there- our shop subscribed to Mode, which our clients loved, but it went out of publication. It was a mag designed for size 12 and up, but there was no real harping on the weight issue- it really was designed for the average woman. Jane was sort of good as well, until it got weird. I guess the closest thing now is Redbook, which in no way fits the bill. They are either about size zero coutere, or haute cuisine, or both. (Which is odd, given that to wear the one, you must forego the other..) I gave up on mags a while ago- I now just pay attention to our industry trend mags and such.
