The smell of burning hair permeated the air as she sat back in her chair. "Hey lady!" a shout came from a nearby table. It was followed by 8 airborne ounces of diluted corn syrup and artificial coloring. "Sorry lady, but you were on fire."
She dabbed delicately at her sugary tresses and removed the soggy remnants of a once-conical party hat. "Um, thanks? And my name... is Helen."
