so no airbag deployment? thats often a decent early indicator of fixable/not fixable...not a rule by any stretch, but if theres not enough damage/impact to set that off, its usually a good sign.

That's good to hear. No airbags, and we didn't need them. I am eternally happy to be driving such a safe car in an era of seatbelts, car seats, crumple zones, and smart airbags. At those speeds in an older car with no belts....<shudder>

Seriously people, I know you know this, but do not fvck around about seatbelts.

I just signed off on the car tear down, so we'll see how that goes.

Which was crazy and seemed insulting at the time. It was explained to us that no matter what, the victim will be at least 20% at fault, according to the insurance company.

I think this "blame the guy who got hit" stuff is a ploy from the insurance companies to avoid paying the full claim.
