1. He knew people would think his name was pronounced 'Bo-ner' so he clarified the way to say it.

2. Quote: "smaller, more accountable federal government"? Hahahahaha!

No, he isn't concerned about boner. I'm guessing he was afraid people would think it was pronounced "bee-ner" and he wouldn't want to be confused for a Mexican.
