For me it's all about Methew Bourne - the mans a genius. For me, he's one of those names I'd see anything he did.

Hmm, seems I'm undereducated about Bourne. The way you guys describe it I'm sure I'd dig it.

HI!
|
I'm trying to keep my expectations on the lower side, but I've NEVER seen a bad deed from Bourne. December 22nd! I can't wait!

Did y'all know that Bourne also choreographed the production of Mary Poppins that just opened on Broadway?

Well Lisa and I caught this tonight, and by the end of the first act, we were looking to see if we could get tickets to see it again. The costuming and set design are awe inspiring in themselves - a collision of German Expressionism and mid century modern. And the Dance? What can I say but Matthew Bourne is a genius of non-verbal communication. The opening dance sequence introduce introduce four families of four members each and by the end you know them all individually - in fact there is so much going and interplay between them, that that's exactly why you want to see it again, it just can't all be seen in one viewing. And then there are the dancing topiaries. Magical, fairy tale like, and as sad as the original - yeah it squeezed some tears from me. But damn, what a show.
