Aaaaa, WTF did I do. I cut my hair just when I was starting to like it! Now its short and ugly. I thought that it would be a good idea to trim it up a bit for school since it was getting a little shagy in the back and the sides and it would make the whole Robert Smith thing I was doing a little better, well so I thought. So I go to the hair salon while at the mall last week I get in the chair and tell the the guy to take just a little bit off the sides and the back. Well the hair dude finds out that I am a film student, so he starts up with the whole he is a hollywood hairstylest (yeah right, why is he working in a mall salon in Palmdale then!!!???). So he is chating away and has my back to the mirrior so I have no idea what he is doing to my hair. He gets done and turns me around and he cut the hair really short off of my ears and top, and get this, left the back long so now I have this stupid mullut looking thing. And I hate, and I mean hate having hair above my ears. I look like I have a freaking pinhead when it is cut like that! And get this he asks for a tip, it took eveything I had not to just curse the guy out right then and there. When has it been that a trim means 3 inchs? I am never going to the barber again!!! This happens everytime, I say take just a bit off and they shave me bald! It looks like I am just going to have to learn how to cut my own hair now since I am not going to trust anybody with it now for a least the next few years. Going to the barber has become worse then going to the dentist for me now.

Awwww. Maybe you should try some really hip place that cuts those more unusual styles you see in high fashion. Probably will cost more but maybe they'll be willing.

I hate it when people take perogitive and cut my hair differently then what I ask for. I've even brought in pictures of what I wanted and come out with something different. It's a roll of the dice it seems. About half way through one haircut, I noticed that the lady had just graduated and OMG - I should have just gotten up right then and there.

There is one thing though - at least it grows back.

And this is why I spend ungodly sums of money to have my hair cut. Cutting curly hair is no picnic. And I hate having bangs because they glom into one big curl in the center of my forehead. Every time. So what do they always do? Cut these giant Charlie's Angels feathered bang. "Just blow them out straight like this." Okay. First of all, eeeeew! Second, in under 20 minutes they'll be curled again. Guaranteed.

So for years my mom cut my hair. She's a perfectionist, so when I tell her to cut 2" straight across the bottom to take care of split ends I know that she will do exactly that.

But about two years ago or so she convinced me to start seeing someone at the local Gene Juarez. And even then I made Ryan go first! (He has curly hair, too.) Sure it costs me $45 a pop. But I also don't look like a refugee from 1976.

Also why I have searched out someone that has skillz, and pay large sums of money to have hair that looks good. Never go to the mall, supercutz sucks too. might as well just go to walmart and get your hair cut if your going to go to a mall place.

Find yourself a good stylist, and consult with her/him about what you want to do, and stick with that one person. You may pay more, but the emotional relief and not having to wait for a bad haircut to grow back are worth it. most stylists will charge $25 to $35 for a haircut only for men, add color and it can go up to $150+

I can empathize. I've had plenty of bad haircuts. Now, I have Paul and noone but Paul cuts my hair. (But I do play w/color)

I used to have a lady that knew my hair pretty good back in Utah and would cut it the way I asked he too, but I did not get very many haircuts since I am always growing it out it seems. I just don't know if I can trust anybody with it anymore. I kind of like a bit of chaos when it comes to my hair so I am thinking that maybe I should look into doing it myself. At least if I mess it up I will only have myself to blame. The cut I got cost $25 or something like that so it was not a cheep haircut.
