My Dad use to listen to him a lot. Although I can't honestly say I really liked his music I can say I am quite familiar with it and am sad that he passed.
I noticed the following in KBs link: "In February 1999, Fender was awarded a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame after then-Texas Gov. George W. Bush wrote to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce endorsing him." Who knew?
